Our first meeting with you will be a free, no obligation, meeting designed for us to find out more about your business and your HR requirements. 

This will include a comprehensive check of your understanding and use of HR procedures and employment legislation. You will receive a copy of the check list, outlining any areas which could or should be improved.

Do I have to subscribe to your service, or can I just use it when I need it?

You can do either, we will agree the best package for your needs at the time.  That could range from a ‘pay as you go’ option to a fully outsourced HR department package.

Why would I want to pay for telephone support when I can phone ACAS for nothing?

There are a couple of good reasons.  The first is because we will know you and know something about your company through having carried out your free health check. That will tend to lead to a better, more personal advice, particularly because you will be dealing with the same 2-3 people every time you contact us.
 
The other is that, because we are local, if a problem would be better dealt with by a face to face meeting or practical support, we can be there.

Do you provide Occupational Health support?

Yes, we partner with an excellent Occupational Health provider.  We can either put you in touch directly or we can provide the service as a one stop shop through Camino HR Ltd.

Do you provide Health and Safety Advice?

This is a specialist area so we provide Health and Safety support through Associates.  We can either put you in touch directly or we can provide the service as a one stop shop through Camino HR Ltd.

Do you provide Employment Law advice?

Yes,  we specialise in helping you to understand how employment legislation affects you and how to manage your human resource within the boundaries of employment legislation.  

We are pragmatic in our approach and will always clearly explain your options, best practice and the risks associated with not using best practice.

We will give you the level of support that you need, whether it is guidance over the phone, drafting or checking correspondence,  coaching your managers in how to handle a situation or attending meetings with you if required.

Can you provide us with standard HR documents to use when we need them?

We believe firmly that the cause of many problems in businesses is the use of standard documents which don’t necessarily suit the size, nature and culture of the business.  

So we will provide you with documents which suit your particular needs and which have been fully discussed with you. Camino clients have access to their tailor made documents directly from this website via our secure 'login' facility.

Will you keep us updated on changes to legislation and how it affects us?

Yes, if that is part of the package that we have agreed.  We will also keep your documents updated.

All major changes and updates are posted on the 'News' section of this website, and you can also sign up to our RSS feed to get all the latest info directly. 

Do you provide training?

Yes, we will always advise you to let us provide training to your managers/team leaders/supervisory staff in any new policy or procedure which we agree with you.
 
We provide specific training in the following:
 

• Managing Performance (including appraisal)

• Managing Absence

• Managing Discipline and Grievance situations

• Writing Job Descriptions

• Recruitment and Interviewing

• Basic Employment Law

We also hold open training days which are posted in the 'News' secion of this site. Please get in touch to discuss any specific training requirments.

If we cannot provide the training that you need, we will source a good trainer for you.

Do you provide a Mediation service?

Yes, one of our team is a qualified Mediator.  We can mediate on an informal basis to help to resolve minor disputes and grievances and on a more formal basis for more serious problems.

Can you advise on HR or Time and Attendance Software?

Yes, this is another of our specialist areas.  We can help you to from the drawing up of a requirements specification, to the choice of vendor, to the full project management of the implementation if you require it.

Do you provide a Payroll service?

We do not provide a payroll service but we can put you in touch with payroll providers and can support you to manage your payroll input.

Will you provide a Recruitment Service?

Yes, we can help with all your recruitment, from a single vacancy to major recruitment projects.  We can also train your staff in interview skills and in writing meaningful job descriptions.

Can our employees contact you directly?

Yes, if that is what you would like to happen.  Not all organisations want this facility.

All Camino clients have access to theit HR documents directly from the secure section of this website. We can if you wish, set up controls to allow employees, for example managers or department heads, access to certain documents at your discretion.

 

Do you provide insurance against losing at an Employment Tribunal?

We don’t provide it as part of our standard package because the majority of our clients don’t require it and we pride ourselves on helping you to avoid tribunals.

However, if you would like to pay the insurance premium, we have negotiated an arrangement with an excellent local solicitors, Fraser Brown of Nottingham, that will cover you for all tribunal costs - so long as you have taken advice from Camino HR in handling the matter.  This includes representation at tribunal by an employment lawyer.
